![]() Grease of course is a classic film from 1978 featuring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John, and now also a very popular musical. I used Custom Bricks for that. The figures of the T-Birds - Danny Zuko, Kenickie, Doody, Sonny, and Putzie - were a particular challenge for me as I've tended to stick to inanimate objects so far in my LEGO career! And - a first for me - I had some parts chromed to really capture that shiny look. The printing of the lightning on the car was done as usual for me by Fab Bricks. ![]() Unfortunately it wasn't accepted due to some existing relationship between Ford and LEGO. I created this LEGO version of the iconic car from Grease (and the scene at the end of the song Greased Lightning with the T-Birds posed on the car) as a LEGO Ideas project. You can have a Thunderbird, or lifesize cardboard cutouts of Sandra and Danny dressing up your party. “Grease” movie cardboard cutouts make it easier to set the scene because you are able to make any custom standee! Out of all of these things, the decorations are probably the most difficult. Basing your party off what you see in the movie, you know what kind of decorations you need and how to arrange them. Take the “Dance Competition” theme, for example. How to Throw A “Grease” Themed Partyīy choosing one specific point in the movie as your theme, you’re giving your party a direction, which will help you decide what types of drinks you should serve, what music to play, etc. There are many other possibilities, but these were just a few to get you thinking and planning. Soda Shop : Sometimes dressing up and having burgers and smoothies in a diner-like setup is enough to satisfy the fun of the theme.Dance Competition : Dress up as your favorite characters, go as couples and have a dance competition using dance moves from the movie and era.Paint your nails, do hair in fun colors, pierce your ears and more. Beauty School Dropout : Have a fun girls night with the beauty school dropout.You can recreate a smaller version of this scene with rides or games with prizes, drink carts, etc. It presents a lot of opportunity for a party. Carnival : The infamous final scene – the school carnival.Set up your party like a race track, or a drive-in movie. ![]() Grease Lightning: You could either go all out with this and set up your party with antique muscle cars, or simply use “Grease” car cardboard cutouts.What we mean by that is that there are a lot of directions you can go in with it. “Grease” themed parties have been touted as one of the most fun party themes, as well as one of the most versatile.
